Thank you to everyone who commented on last Friday’s blog post! I’m glad so many of you enjoyed it. I’ve had several requests for the salsa recipe and for a list of some of the different things I do for my own workouts. I’ll include that information at the end of this post.
Only a few short hours after writing my last post, I had a great workout, followed by an even more fantastic pizza. Life is all about keeping things in balance, right? I share that with you because, again, I want to encourage you to give yourself a break. Take care of yourself, absolutely, but do it while continuing to do the things that bring a smile to your face. For me, last Friday, that included sitting at home with my hubby and sharing a pizza. How do you go about finding more balance in your life? Mango Guacamole From Taste of Home Magazine, Feb./Mar. 2014
3 medium ripe avocado, peeled and chopped
1 large mango, peeled and chopped
1 large tomato, chopped
1 small red onion, chopped
1/4 C chopped fresh cilantro
3 TB lime juice
1 tsp. salt
In a large bowl, toss together ingredients and serve with tortilla chips. Enjoy!

I like to incorporate a wide variety into my workouts to keep them fun and fresh. The only thing I do consistently is yoga. I’ve gone to classes in the past, but now that I have two small children I mostly follow videos or a routine of my own. Here are some of my favorite workout DVDs:

I love using these resources to create workouts that fit my personal fitness goals. In particular, they help me incorporate free weights and cardio into my routine. In the summer I will also run, but it has to be pretty warm for me to hit the pavement…I’m a fair-weather-friend with running!
