I hear a lot of people talk about wanting to live a life of purpose.
For me, though, I know the purpose of my life. I believe that I’m here to know God, and to love others. That’s my purpose.
My dilemma, however, is that I can know the purpose of my life, and still not live my life on purpose.
Living a life on purpose takes effort. It requires thought, action and more importantly…intention. It is easy to let life happen to us, instead of living a life on purpose. It is easy to get caught up in the busyness of our schedules, the details of our “to do” list and the seemingly never ending demands of life. But, I want to remember that I have a purpose, and I can’t live out my purpose, if I don’t live on purpose.
I want to live intentionally. I want to take control of my days and make my time count. I want to not just know my purpose, but live it out.
So for the next forty days, I’m going to challenge myself to do something each day- no matter how small – to slow down, notice my surroundings, and be intentional.
As a result, I will be posting here on His Girl Friday more often, and I’ll try to keep a photo journal of my progress on Instagram as well. I’ll use the #lifeonpurpose. Please let me know what you think about this idea, and definitely share with me here on the blog, via email, or tag me on Instagram (@hisgirlfriday14) if you find yourself living intentionally!
