Here’s Looking at You Kid

This, is the big one.

My little brother got married this past weekend. I have so many thoughts and emotions running through me that I think, for now, I will keep this simple.Β

Josh,

I want you to know that I believe in you.

I believe in you like I believe the sun will rise each day.

I believe in you like I believe in a good cup of a coffee and mom’s pie.

I believe in you like I believe in Wes Anderson movies, like I believe in Humphrey Bogart to always make me cry in Casablanca and like I believe in John Wayne to always save the day.

I believe in you like I believe in the comfort of a rainy Ohio day, like I believe in a walk in the freshly fallen snow, like I believe inΒ the sound of the ocean and the feel of the waves lapping at my feet.

I believe in you like I believe God loves me, like I believe in the stories He is constantly writing, like I believe in the courage He gives us all to do something great.

I believe in you like I believe in the love Anne has for Gilbert, like I believe in the love I have for you, like I believe in the love you have for Rhiannon.

I believe in you.

β™₯

Congratulations my brother, my friend. Here’s looking at you kid.

  1. This made me tear up. I pray my children grow to have such a strong relationship. And, you’re in Ohio…have we talked about this? I live in Galion, its right outside Mansfield. Where in Ohio are you?

    1. Emily, I’m very lucky to have such a close relationship with my brother! I’m so happy that we’ve settled near each other as adults, so that we get the chance to see each other often. I live just outside of Wooster, which I don’t think is too far from Galion, right? I looked it up and it looks like you aren’t too far from Mansfield. My husband grew up in Ashland. πŸ™‚

      1. That’s so cool! Yeah, Wooster isn’t far away at all. I actually looked up Flex Yoga recently and I saw your sis had a flex yoga shirt on! Maybe someday we’ll get to meet 😊 I enjoy your blog! Keep up the good work mama!
