We used to keep our tv downstairs in our basement. I don’t like a super visual tv, so it worked for us to have it tucked away downstairs. But, as Theo got older and started to be watch shows of his own, I wanted him to be upstairs where I could keep an eye on him and the tv.
So during one of our monthly switch-a-roos where I get the itch to move around furniture, we brought the tv upstairs and made our former dining room into a tv room. We have a super long living room, so we simply made it serve double duty as both living room and dining room, thus freeing up the old dinning room to become a tv room!
I’ve been wanting to create a photo gallery/local art wall for the tv room for awhile now, and finally compiled enough pieces to put one together. Mike re-painted the room a lovely shade of pale gray, we moved all our white furniture in, and spray painted a handful of pictures frames all white to create a cohesive look.
My photo gallery/local art wall is an assortment of family photos – both mine and some older ones of extended family – and pieces I’ve picked up from local, Ohio artisans. And of course, we left plenty of room to grow, as our family continues to expand :-). Take a look!

I loved this peek into your home! The dishes you have on top of your TV cabinet (milk glass) are so pretty. Thanks for the tour! 🙂
Whitney – I get my love of vintage dishes, and the actual milk glass, from my grandmothers. Dishes were so much prettier back then! I’m glad you liked the room tour :-).
very nice
