An Easy Project For Your Kids to Make For New Baby

I wanted the boys to help me make a cute print for our baby girl, but everything I found on Pinterest was either too cheesy, too complicated, or required fancy crafting equipment that I don’t own. After wasting a few hours searching through craft ideas that I’ll never make, I decided to come up with an idea on my own.

The boys love Winnie the Pooh, and honestly, Theo couldn’t be more of a “Tigger,” or Oliver more of a “Pooh,” so I thought we’d start there. I found a sweet Winnie the Pooh quote and typed it up in a Word Publisher document. Then I searched for an image of Pooh and Tigger together. I instantly knew exactly what I wanted to do and when I saw one of them holding balloons.

I copied and pasted the image into the Publisher document, put a white text box over the balloons so that it would print up without the balloons, adjusted the text around the image, and printed it off.

I then had the boys do painted finger prints in the place where the balloons were, and drew in the strings after everything had dried.

I picked up a frame at thrift store that I thought would look good, but I’m not totally happy with it. I think I need something thicker. Oh well, I’ll keep looking. In the mean time, it will do. And it’s still pretty stinkin cute!

    1. Ann, that is a wonderful idea! I wanted to spray paint the frame white, but was concerned that it would be to blah with white on white. But if I add a colorful mat, that would look so nice! Thanks for the tip.
