Five Things

-I appear to be in an eating contest with……myself? So far, I’m winning. (Breastfeeding man, it’s serious work.)

-Beatrice’s newborn photo session did not go well. I’m trying not to take it too personally that all three of my kids are incredibly non-compliant. Is it something I did? Something I do? Is this going to be something they need therapy for in the future? Parenting is hard.

-We live in a two bedroom house that is now filled with five people. We have human beings and stuff everrrrywhere. I kinda love it. Scratch that. I love it.

-I can’t tell you how happy I am for the holidays this year. I’m ready for all of it – the fun activities, the cooking, the get togethers with friends and family, the eating. I can’t wait to get in the kitchen and start baking with Theo, my little helper. I can’t wait to take Theo and Oliver to meet santa. I can’t wait to do our annual – watch Frosty the Snowman and eat popcorn and smoothies – night. I can’t wait for Christmas morning with my three kids (holy cow, three!) It’s all going to be so good.

-I’m so tired I alnewoihd’vihlnkaeldfivszhnldksnflesihf’oeiwhpihng’lbnv. Oh, sorry about that, I just fell asleep on my keyboard. Now where was I? Anyways, adding a third human to our brood has left Mike and I way more exhausted than adding number one and number two ever did. We’ve had plenty of evenings where we all gather on the couch for cuddles and a movie, and that’s really about the extent of our excitement. It’s nothing fancy, but it feels really, really great.

Have a great Friday, folks! See ya back here on Monday, same time, same channel!

  1. I grew up in very close quarters too–7 people in a 1,000 square foot house. Sometimes, it was downright annoying, but I have so, so many awesome stories to tell about it now. 🙂 Wishing you and your family a great Christmas this year!

    1. Sharon, that is so awesome to hear. Yes, we can all get on each other’s nerves, but I’m hoping for the same, ultimate outcome that you experienced. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment! Merry Christmas to you, too!

      1. Just for fun, I’ll share my favorite story. Our pastor dropped by our home to give us a surprise Thanksgiving basket. My brother let him in, but the front door wouldn’t open all the way–because my sister’s daybed was blocking it. As a consequence for not cleaning her part of the shared girl’s room, my mother evicted her from the girl’s room and made her sleep in the living room. And the only place that would accommodate the daybed was right by the front door.

My brother said, “Oh, sorry about that. She got kicked out of her room.”

        He was very confused.

We laughed about it for a long time–even to this day. 🙂

        Nice chatting with you!

    1. Thanks so much Samantha! And the biscotti was delicious, but I can’t take credit for it! My sweet friend brought over that and some other holiday cookies, and coffee! Now that’s a good friend! 😉
