Thursday Things I Love: Fields of Clover, Little Gardeners, and Food

Well. Summer was off to a great start here in Ohio, but now Summer seems to be going through some sort of identity crisis and thinks it’s Spring because it’s been cold and rainy around here lately.

Come on Summer! Tighten up!

It’s been a good week around here. Theo is fully recovered from his surgery, Mike and I are getting into a good summer schedule groove, and I’ve been doing yoga every day which has been like the best thing ever. Here are a few things I’m loving lately:

this exciting experience

We have a good friend who is in marketing and he helped Mike put together a small promo video for Mike’s Etsy shop. It was a really cool thing to watch. Mike is working so hard at pursuing his passions. He takes such good care of his family, all while chasing his dreams, working hard to pay the bills, and still takes time to sit down and have coffee with me daily. He is an incredible person and I’m so proud of him.

this bath time buddy

I love my bath time with Beatrice. She loves the water, and I get such a kick out of seeing her splash and move around. She is such a little fishy! My heart grows a millions times bigger every time I get to have these special, simple moments with her. What a gift.

this treatment

Mike makes me an omlette – feta and green onions – and coffee almost every Saturday morning. I’m not joking when it’s one of the biggest things he does to make me feel loved. Feed me. Give me coffee. And I’m yours forever.

these little farmers

Oh golly. Those poor plants. Do you think they will survive the gardening adventures with Frick and Frack?

My mom is very creative in the ways she spends time with people. She asked if she could plant a garden at my house with the kids as a way to be together with them and do something fun in the process. The boys were very excited to plant their veggies, and Theo walks up to the garden every day to “check on the watermelon”. 🙂

Bea and I were on a walk this week and we stopped to enjoy the beautiful day. It was warm with a gentle breeze and enough cloud coverage to keep things comfortable. And naturally, I couldn’t sit in a field of clover with my beautiful baby without taking photos. 😉 She is just…such a light. Such a joy!

this new series

You guys, I’m having so much fun with the Places We Love series that I’m working on for you! I’ve reached out to some wonderful people who own/run really amazing places that my family loves, and I can’t wait to share these people, stories, and places with you. This week’s feature on Spoon Market was so fun to work on. Over the past few years, Spoon has saved my sanity on those cold, dreary winter months when I’m trapped inside and just need to look at someone else’s walls for a change. Yay for coffee! Yay for community! Yay for people who create cool spaces where you get to eat good things and drink delicious coffee while your kids play!

this little caretaker

I went to a local greenhouse this past week and Theo insisted on pushing his little sister around the whole time. He takes so much pride in being her big brother, and he does a wonderful job of taking care of her. I can honestly say that he is my little helper!

this gorgeous goodie

Mike and I are still drooling over these beautiful wallets from Guster Leather that I included in my Father’s Day gift idea post. They are seriously so cool. I have my eye on a few of his bags…Oh purses! Why are you so beautiful? Why do I want you all?

this interview

I can’t wait to share with you the next stop on the Places We Love tour. Can’t. Wait.

The food. The stories. The foooood.

I like you guys a lot. Thanks for reading each day/week. Thanks for letting me share this stuff with you. I’m having so much fun, and I hope you are enjoying yourselves too.

  1. Just wanted to say hello from a neighboring-ish blogger (I’m in Medina) and I too hope it warms the heck back up! Just discovered your blog and am finding your children adorable, your taste impeccable and your Saturday a.m. omelets very enviable.

    1. Oh HEY neighbor! We love Medina :-). Thanks so much for the compliments! And yes, whyyyy is it so cold? Ready for summer to feel like summer. Off to check out your blog now! Thanks for introducing yourself.
