This past Saturday was the kind of day that I hope I always remember. Beatrice and I spent the morning together. We brunched with friends. We strolled around downtown Wooster, browsing shops and taking in the gorgeous fall day. I introduced her to the art of taking pictures in random alleys. We (I) drank coffee.
The kids took a decent nap that afternoon. I had dinner ready to go and costumes laid out, ready for our evening plans.
After dinner, we started to get ready for the Enchanted Forest, an event we were all looking forward to attending for the first time. First, we got Batman ready, because he couldn’t stand to wait any longer. Then…his sidekick Robin. Finally, the sweetest little daisy appeared before our eyes.
Batman and Robin loved being Batman and Robin. They immidiately started super-hero-ing around the house. Flying. Kicking. Hi-ya-ing. The daisy simply looked on, being her lovely little self, as daises are wont to do.
We loaded everyone into the van to head to our event.
Oliver: “I love you Robin.”
Theo: “I’m not Robin. You’re Robin. I’m Batman.”
