This weekend, I got to spend quite a bit of time with my husband and it was GLORIOUS. Good grief I like that guy. You know? I really do. We had a fun weekend together.
Friday night, we got together with my two cousins and their spouses. They are some of our most favorite people in the world, and it was so good to be together.
Saturday morning, Mike surprised Beatrice and I by taking us out for a coffee date. We were two VERY happy girls.
We had a family Christmas get together that afternoon, and my parents surprised us by having the kids put on a play of the Christmas nativity story. The kids did such a fantastic job. Us parents couldn’t get over how quiet they were behind the curtain before it started, and how patient they were as they waited to perform their parts. Theo and Oliver were shepherds, my cousin’s kids were Mary and Joseph, and Bea – oh my heart – was an angel. My parents put her in a high chair, wrapped her in a white sheet, and stuck a tinsel crown on her head. Adorable doesn’t describe the half of it. And she was so quiet! The whole time, she just sat there, watching the other kids and occasionally smiling to herself. It was genuinely one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen. All the kids did such a great job, and it was absolutely a gift for all of us experience.
Later that night, I was asked to run the social media for a new chapter of Sofar that is now in Akron, Ohio. I was thrilled to get to support something that I love so much! The bands were so talented and the space – Birchwood Supply Co – was an incredibly cool vintage and design shop. You should definitely check it out if you are ever in the area. If you are on Instagram, check out @sofarakron and see the pics I posted of the evening.
If you are interested in attending an Akron Sofar show, the next one will be January 28 and you can sign up HERE!
It was a great weekend with my honey bunny. I miss this guy when he’s not around. I’m looking forward to the upcoming holidays and some time to just be home together as a family. This week, school only goes for two and a half days and then everyone will be under one roof for some quality rest and relaxation together. We still need to bake cookies, and Theo and I still need to make our annual holiday soft pretzels. We also plan to celebrate the last day of school for Mike and Theo by a special screening of Home Alone, complete with stove top popcorn and the homemade cocoa that I mentioned last thursday. I can’t wait. It’s going to be a good time.
Also, please note the placement of the antlers in the photo below. LOL
Have a great Monday, friends. What last minute Christmas plans do you have?
