Five Things

1. Cha-cha-cha-changes!  We are possibly, maybe, probably, hopefully (?) about to undertake some home renno projects. I don’t know. I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much. Mike is certain it is happening, but until I walk in and see this done and that, I’m not holding my breath. But I’m curious, what kind of life lessons have you learned from your home renovations? Anything worth sharing? Anything you wish you would have done differently or perhaps – not at all? We are specifically looking to make some big changes to our kitchen. Mike likes to think we are Chip and Joanna Gaines (I know, so does evvvvveryone else), but I think we are closer to Ricky and Lucy so I guess we’ll see how this thing goes.

2. Do you have any favorite activities you do every fall? Any special places you visit for the foliage or traditions to help you enjoy this special (and fleeting!) time of year? I’d love to hear from you. I’m compiling my Fall Bucket List for next week and I’m looking for more ideas! Continue reading “Five Things”

DIY Coffee Body Scrub

Today I wanted to share with you a quick, easy, and inexpensive recipe for a DIY coffee body scrub. In fact, if you are a coffee drinker, I bet you already have most of these ingredients in your pantry!

This recipe comes together in a snap, smells unbelievable, and does a fantastic job of smoothing out those rough patches on your face and body, all while leaving it nicely moisturized. And let me tell you, if you use this in the shower, it basically makes your whole bathroom smell like Starbucks. Talk about a lovely way to start your day! Continue reading “DIY Coffee Body Scrub”

Five Things

1. My boys played in the rain last night and it brought so much joy to my heart to watch them run and play and get absolutely soaked and muddy. Some of my best and most vivid memories as a kid are of playing in the rain with my brother. Childhood can be so magical, especially when we don’t put the pressure on kids or ourselves to make it into something specific. Kids are masters at finding the fun.

2. I read this and it just kind of made me cry, especially this part:

“There’s no mirror in your way when you’re laughing and smiling and happiness is leaking out of you. You would know exactly how bright and beautiful you are if you saw yourself in the moments where you are truly yourself.”

Thursday Things I Love: Vintage Clothes, Handmade Gifts, and New Coffee Shops

It’s been a good week around here. The weather is gloriously hot, Mike and I have been busy working on fun projects, and we’ve settled into a good little groove after being away for the weekend. The kids are completely out of control but hey, I got both my bathrooms cleaned this week so I’ll call that a victory. (You take what you can get, right mommas?) Here are some things I’ve loved this week: Continue reading “Thursday Things I Love: Vintage Clothes, Handmade Gifts, and New Coffee Shops”

Thursday Things I Love: Baby Leggings, COFFEE, and Peonies

It’s been kind of a slow grind around here lately. Not a lot to report, and certainly nothing flashy or exciting to share. But there are always good things. Always. Here are a few things I’ve loved from the week:

these clothes

I had a gift card to a department store and used it to purchase Bea some clothes in the next size up. I couldn’t pass up the cheerful yellow leggings and the adorable floral hoodie to match. And that chambray tunic! Too. Cute. I love dressing this baby so stinkin much! Continue reading “Thursday Things I Love: Baby Leggings, COFFEE, and Peonies”

Thursday Things I love: Photos of My Kids, Baby Hipsters, and Coffee

Do your kids watch Octonauts? It’s this show on Netflix that my kids love. Each episode teaches them about a new sea creature and it’s pretty clever. But dangit, those theme songs are catchy!

“Creature Report! Creature Report! We’re done with our mission, Octonauts at ease. Until the next adventure!!!!!!!!!!!”

It’s so embarrassing to be at the kitchen sink or in the shower and find myself muttering, “Creature report! Creature report!”

Well it’s Thursday, friends, and here in Ohio it’s gray and windy which is suuuuper inspiring.

When will it end???

Oh well. Until then, here is my weekly roundup of things I loved about my week. (Spoiler alert, the weather ain’t one of em.) Oh, and fun fact. The French word for rainy is “pluvieux.” Enjoy.  Continue reading “Thursday Things I love: Photos of My Kids, Baby Hipsters, and Coffee”

A Little Bit About Me

I’ve picked up some new followers lately, so I thought I’d take the time today to share a little bit about myself.

-I have three kids. I’ve had a baby every other year for the past five years running. I need to start planning my next project before I get confused and have one more kid.

-I love live for coffee. The darker and stronger the better. I want my coffee to reach up and slap me. Incidentally, I’m not a morning person and would cease to function without said, strong coffee.

-My favorite dark roast at Starbucks is Gold Coast. My least favorite is Komodo Dragon. Let’s be real, Starbucks, and call a spade a spade, and a medium roast a medium roast.

-I don’t really have a favorite color. I’m an equal opportunity color appreciator.  Continue reading “A Little Bit About Me”
