1. The other day, Theo came up to me and said, “Mommy, are you ready to apologize for yelling at me this morning when I didn’t eat my breakfast?” ***Sigh*** Kids, I tell ya! None-the-less, Theo’s marble jar has really been working. If you didn’t get a chance to read that post, you can do that here.
Last night, my super talented friend took my maternity photos. I never really wanted to do maternity pics with the boys. I didn’t feel all that pretty during their pregnancies and was glad to document them with a few photos here and there, but that was about it. This time though, I don’t know if it’s the fact that I’m carrying this baby so differently or simply the fact that I’m having a baby girl, but I just feel really good about my bump.
I had planned on doing photos with a photographer, but some life stuff happened and suddenly I had to cancel the shoot and I didn’t think I was going to get any maternity pics after all. I was so disappointed. But then, my friend Bri said she would take them for me I was over the moon excited.
I knew two things that I wanted for the pictures. I knew I wanted them to be unique, and I knew I wanted to wear a floral crown for a few of them. That’s right. I wanted the full on flower child, earth goddess, mother-in-bloom look. I have a vintage dress from my aunt who passed away a few years ago and I knew that a floral crown and her dress would get me the look I wanted. In honor of this special time of year, I’ve put together a list of some of my favorite fall actives. Enjoy! Continue reading “10 Things to Do This Fall”
We used to keep our tv downstairs in our basement. I don’t like a super visual tv, so it worked for us to have it tucked away downstairs. But, as Theo got older and started to be watch shows of his own, I wanted him to be upstairs where I could keep an eye on him and the tv.
So during one of our monthly switch-a-roos where I get the itch to move around furniture, we brought the tv upstairs and made our former dining room into a tv room. We have a super long living room, so we simply made it serve double duty as both living room and dining room, thus freeing up the old dinning room to become a tv room! Good news! This week I learned to braid my hair. I know, I know, everybody knows how to braid hair. Well, not this girl. Until now that is!
Lately I wanted a cute way to do my hair without pulling it back into a ponytail to keep my hair out of my face while teaching yoga. A braid seemed like the perfect solution. So, after scouring Pinterest for hours and watching countless Youtube videos, I finally am starting to pick up on it. This being a girl business is hard…
In other hair news, an item that is slightly more interesting than my learning to braid, I have a great hair tip for you today. Continue reading “DIY Dry Shampoo (Because who wants to wash their hair every day?)”
