1) I was having a hard time backing up my iphone and decided to admit defeat and ask the google for help. I accidentally typed “how to get my phone back.” GOSH. You guys. Teenagers are adorable. Post after post of kids offering tips and tricks on how to get their parents to return their phone when they are taken away as a punishment. There was even a Wiki, “how to” page, complete with instructions. Continue reading “Five Things”
We ate very well this Christmas. Although meal planning with two toddlers and a newborn wasn’t easy (hellooo sleep deprivation), it paid off in spades because my cooking was on point all. week. long.
We celebrated with my immediate family with a delicious brunch at my brother and sister in law’s house on Christmas Eve. Josh made prime rib which everyone said was delicious, my mom made a wonderful quiche, Rhiannon served some of the best roasted vegetables I’ve ever had, and I made a salad and baked french toast. This All-Natural Soda
I’m not a pop drinker. It really, really makes me feel gross. But every now and then, I want something carbonated to go along with our evening show and snack. I found these Blue Sky sodas at Big Lots recently and they hit the spot. They don’t have any dyes, high fructose corn syrup, or artificial flavoring in them and are pretty delicious. There are a lot of really great outdoorsy reasons to love fall; the crisp air, the colorful leaves, and the amazing way a cup of coffee feels between your hands on a chilly afternoon. But I also love the way fall makes your home feel on the inside. The changing temperatures and scenery outside have a way of making everything feel so much cozier inside.
For me, fall is a welcome change of pace. I enjoy quiet nights at home, savoring all that this season has to offer. Today, I’ve put together a list of a few of my “essentials” for a cozy night at home. Enjoy.

Last week was my husband’s 32 birthday. (You don’t mind me sharing your age publicly, do ya babe? Good. I didn’t think so…)
I love birthdays. Yours. Mine. Everyones!
But I especially love celebrating my hubby. Continue reading “Marriage, Birthdays, Etc.”
Welcome to another installment of Blogger Bites! In my last BB post, I mentioned that I’ve been trying to make some things from scratch that I would normally buy prepackaged for convenience sake. I’ve also been trying to mix things up in the veggie burger department. And, I’m continuing to try and involve Theo in the kitchen. One thing I try to do on a weekly basis is to have some sort of homemade snack in the house for my family. I’m not against store bought snacks, and goodness knows we have plenty of those, but if I can have at least one, healthful and homemade option lying around, then I feel like I’ve accomplished something. This past week I was sicker than I’ve been in a loooong time. The past seven days felt like a black hole. I don’t recall what I did, said, or how I managed to take care of my two little ones who were also sick. I do not have the type of kids that, when sick, lay around and get all cuddly. I have the type of kids that get crazy (er). They climb furniture, destroy things and get really, really feisty. It is such a treat, let me tell you, especially when you yourself feel like you are dying. Continue reading “I Ate All of the Things: Cooking From “Scratch””
For the past six months, I’ve been taking a daily dose of Raw Apple Cider Vinegar to help ward off the slew of sinus infections I’ve been suffering from the past few years. I was getting a sinus infection, bad enough to be treated by antibiotics, every 3-4 months. I hate being on antibiotics almost as much as I hate being sick, so my quest to end the cycle led me to RACV. Each year, try as I might to avoid it, I inevitable end up re-watching all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls. I just finished season one, and tonight, with everyone else snoozing in bed, I whipped up some scrambled eggs (extra hot sauce) and sat down to start season two. I can’t help it. I can watch these episodes hundreds of times and they never get old.
So much to love. The music. The books, bands and movies referenced. All of Rory and Lorelei’s fabulous dresses. The witty banter. It’s all great and all things I love.
In honor of things generally loved by me, I thought I’d share some things I’m currently into right now. Links and photos included! Continue reading “Gilmore Girls, Scrambled Eggs and Other Current Favorites”
